A great introduction to Portuguese wines starting off in the north west of Portugal on the Costa Verde with a Vinho verde espumante and Vinho verde rose followed by a ripe Encruzado from down south in northern Alentejo – Portugal’s answer to Chardonnay! For the reds we head north east to ‘behind the mountains’ Tras-os-montes for a bright red wine and then drop down to the heat of the Douro Valley for rich full bodied Terra a Terra Reserva and round off with a delicious Reserva from Terra D’Alter in the Alto Alentejo full of generous sunshine. A great way to get to know Portuguese wines!
