Description The white Moscatel Gallego Branco is grown in the cool plateau high above the heat of the Douro Valley. Related to the Muscat Blanc a Petit Grains of France the Moscatel grapes of Favaios are made into a delicious dessert wine with the addition of brandy during the fermentation. This preserves a delicious caramel sweetness balanced with a delicious citrus acidity. The grapes are hand picked early in the mornings to preserve the all important fresh aromas. The winery at Quinta da Faisca is designed on different levels with the grapes delivered at the upper level and after crushing in the lagars are fed down to the lower level of the Adega. This port-like drink is fantastic with baked apple desserts and blue cheeses.
