A star ruby ring featuring a stunning star ruby oval cabochon bezel-set in a simple gold vermeil band. The star effect is a special optical phenomenon called asterism, caused by tiny inclusions of rutile within the crystal that form a “star” of reflected light. Vermeil is sterling silver coated in 14k gold (thicker than “gold-plated”). Stone approx 9 x 7 mm Size 8 1/2 only.
